It must be worth doing a computer enhancement of his track speed up to the point where he slackened off, maintain his normal track speed for the last 15 metres, and compare the actual finishing time of 9.69 seconds to what it could have been if he continued to run straight through the line maintaining his track speed.'

1009 Cycling - Victoria Pendleton is taking on Lithuanian Simona Krupeckaite in the women's sprint quarter-finals, and the British world champion takes the first race with ease.
1004 Cycling - Rebecca Romero can only finish down in 11th, can't help feeling that's just not her event at all, she's a superb power cyclist but the sprinting is not to her liking so wrong choice there I think. In the medals - Yoanka Gonzalez of Cuba won the silver and Leire Olaberria of Spain the bronze.
1003GOLDCycling - Marianne Vos wins the gold in the women's points race, the world champion adding the Olympic title to become Holland's first champion in the event.
0955BRONZETable Tennis - South Korea beat Austria 3-1 to take the bronze medal in the men's team competition, China take on Germany later for the gold.
0951 Cycling - Romero is struggling to get involved in the sprints as that's not her bag at all, so she's hit out in front. Marianne Vos does the same and she gets all the way around to lap the field and gain 20 points to go way out in front.
0940 Cycling - There's been a huge crash in the points race, Romero was nowhere near it though fortunately for her..Remember to email in your thoughts/views/comments and questions in to paul.higham@bskyb.com as GB look for more medals on the bike.
0930 Cycling - Back to the velodrome, and Rebecca Romero is going in the tough points race - 100+ laps with 16 sprints in between, she's new to this race so let's see how she gets on.
0926 Sailing - Paul Goodison takes a sixth place in the final Laser race of the day. That will keep him in the gold-medal position heading into tomorrow's medal race.
0920 Coming up we have the cycling session at the velodrome - that starts at 0930 with one of GB's gold medallists from yesterday, Rebecca Romero, going for more glory in the points race. Then later it's Bradley Wiggins and co in the men's team pursuit. There's also a medal session in gymnastics at 1100 - three individual apparatus medals will be up for grabs including the uneven bars in which Beth Tweddle goes for Britain. She is a former world champion. Then the athletics finals session starts at 1200. Three good reasons to stayed logged on.
0905 Sailing - A seventh place for GB in race seven of the Tornado class mean they finish the day 12th overall.
0900 Sailing - In the Star class it's a great day to the day for GB with a first place in race seven. That should push Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson into the medal positions.
0834 Canoeing - Brabants wins the heat by more than a length to book his place in the final. That's a fine start to his medal bid. He blasted it out in the early stages and was able to hold on once the lead had been established.
0832 Canoeing - Brabants has clear water between himself and the rest of the field at the halfway stage. So far, so good.
0831 Sailing - A 13th place in race nine of the Laser Radial class completes a disappointing day for GB's Penny Clark.
0830 Canoeing - Away they go. Brabants makes a flying start, He needs to win the heat to go straight through to the final.
0825 Canoeing - With the rowing regatta now over, the flatwater canoeing is about to get under way with the first heats at Shunyi. British interest comes in the very first heat with world champion Tim Brabants going in the kayak single (K1) 1000m event.
0822 Once again, we'd like to hear you views and opinions of the Games. Team GB have added another medal today in sailing, but what a weekend it was. Who most impressed you? Let us know: andy.schooler@bskyb.com
0817 Sailing - Paul Goodison has taken fourth place in race eight of the Laser series and the Briton now leads by 17 points overall - does another gold beckon?
0800 I expect there are plenty of people logging on in the UK around now, so time for a quick review of the day's main action so far. Team GB have added another medal to thier haul - Joe Glanfield and Nick Rogers winning silver in the men's 470 class in sailing. In the athletics, Phillips Idowu qualified impressively for Thursday's final, but the big news from the Bird's Nest is that Chinese poster boy Liu Xiang is out of the 110m hurdles due to injury.
0758 We've had a few emails in from Australia, with some British ex-pats able to 'get their own' back in sporting terms this weekend after Team GB's medal rush. The bad news now is that those two sailing golds for the Aussies today mean it's now 11 apiece.
0735GOLDSailing - Australia take another gold in the 470 class, this time in the women's event. Holland claim silver, while Brazil's win in the medal race mean they pip Israel to bronze. Great Britain's Bassadone and Clark finish fourth in the medal race and that will mean that take sixth overall.
0720 Sailing - That aforementioned Star race means that Britain are up to fourth in the overall standings. Sweden are in the gold-medal position as things stand.
0714 Sailing - The latest result to come in is in the Tornado class - and it's a seventh place for Team GB. That was their sixth race in the regatta and they now lie 11th.
0710 Sailing - It's a busy day at Qingdao and now GB's Star crew have claimed a second place in their sixth race behind Sweden.
0707 Sailing - Dempsey's third place in that race keeps him in the silver medal position.
0705 Sailing - Now Britain's Bryony Shaw boosts her medal hopes in the RS:X. A win in race nine sees her climb up to fourth overall.
0702 Sailing - More good news for GB as Nick Dempsey has just come in third in race nine of the RS:X windsurfing. That will keep him well in the medal hunt.
0700 So what's coming up? Well, as far as GB medals are concerned, the velodrome is the place to be from 0930 with Rebeccae Romero going for another medal in the points race and Bradley Wiggins and co going for gold in the team pursuit. At 0800, the canoeing action begins with Britain's world champion Tim Brabants in action at Shunyi.
0652 Sailing - That was great news for the 470 boys, but not so good is Penny Clark's latest result in the Laser Radial series. She's just come home 23rd in race eight and is now 11th overall.
0634SILVERSailing - It's silver for GB! Australia win the race but they had won gold any way. GB finish third but are three places ahead of medal rivals France and four ahead of Holland. France will take the bronze. The Dutch will miss out.
0628 Sailing - At the final mark, GB are up into the silver medal position after climbing up to fourth place in this medal race. They are now two places ahead of France, meaning they have leapfrogged them into second overall. The Dutch are still well back. They now head for home.
0620 Sailing - GB are fighting back in this 470 race. It looks like they are up to fifth at the second mark. That lifts them back up to third overall - they are now on course for a medal. Champions Australia still lead the race with France in second and on course for silver.
0616 Sailing - The other bad news is that Spain are going well towards the front and as things stand that means they have moved past GB overall. So all to play for still in this class.
0614 Sailing - The British boat are ninth at the first mark - not good news. There is just one boat behind them but that good news is that that is the Dutch boat - and it is a long way behind. If GB can gain two more places, they can still medal.
0611 Sailing - In that 470 men's medal race, Britain, fourth going into today's action, are still fighting for a medal. They need to beat France by two places and the Dutch by three to overhaul them. However, France are just behind leaders Australia in this race. The Australians have already secured gold. GB are further down the field. We'll see where shortly.
0607 Sailing - We brought you news about Nick Dempsey's fifth place earlier today. Well now we can confirm that's enough to put him in the silver medal position overall. Meanwhile, Paul Goodison leads the Laser category after seven races - he's just won that seventh race.
0602 Sailing - In the women's 470 GB look unlikely to medal. Christina Bassadone and Saskia Clark are now in the ninth and have left themselves with too much to do. That's starting now too.
0600 Sailing - They are about to get under way in the men's 470 medal race. Britons Nick Rogers and Joe Glanfield are fourth overall going into this so could yet medal.
0550 Ian Oldham emails about Liu Xiang. "I give huge kudos to Liu Xiang for lining up, he knew what was going to happen before he even got onto the track, but he had the heart to go out in front of his home crowd and at least line up - there is absolutely no shame in doing a Derek Redmond. I only hope the weight of expectation has not inflicted any serious damage on him."
0540 Sailing - Now news of an eighth place in the men's star for the GB crew. That's race five in that series and GB are now in sixth place overall.
0535 Sailing - Better news for Team GB. Bryony Shaw has taken a third place in her eighth race in the women's RS:X - that's windsurfing to you and me.
0525 Sailing - Briton Nick Dempsey has finished fifth in the eighth race of the RS:X class, but Penny Clark's effort of 18th in the Laser Radial is disappointing. There's also a 14th place for GB in the Tornado, a result that leaves the crew 11th overall.
0523 Boon-Teck Yeo emails from Hong Kong to sum up the feelings about Liu Xiang. He says: "China is feeling gutted right now. For all the loads of gold medals that they have accumulated, nothing would have been sweeter than to hear the Chinese anthem blaring out loud in the Bird's Nest (by virtue of winning a track event). They would love to trade some of those golds for Liu Xiang's availability for the 110m hurdles."
0513 Any views or questions out there? What about Liu Xiang's exit - how disappointing is that for the Games in general? Let me know by emailing me at: andy.schooler@bskyb.com
0510 Sailing - There's plenty of action at Qingdao today, including the medal races in both the men's and women's 470 class. The other action is already under way and we'll keep you posted of how the Brits are doing as the results come in.
0507 Athletics - The morning action in the Bird's Nest is now over, with everyone still digesting that news about Liu Xiang.
0503 Triathlon - Briton Helen Tucker finishes in 21st place. She was well in contention going into the run but couldn't replicate the form that won her the world title earlier in the year. She finished 4mins 28secs back.
0458 Triathlon - Snowsill dominated that run secton and wins in 1hr 58mins 27secs. Portugal's Vanessa Fernandes takes silver, 66secs back. Emma Moffatt claims bronze to be the second Aussie on the podium.
0457GOLDTriathlon - Emma Snowsill has such a big lead that she has time to grab an Australian flag to wave all the way down the home straight. She wins the gold medal.
0452 Athletics - The race does eventually get under way and Scott is through after a third-placed finish in 13.56. Greek Konstadinos Douvalidis wins.
0451 Athletics - A false start, Xiang limps out of the blocks and decides enough is enough. The crowd is stunned as he limps back to the dressing rooms.
0450 Athletics - Xiang will run but it can simply only be about competing in front of his home crowd. If he snaps his Achilles here it would be awful.
0449 Triathlon - Now drama in the women's triathlon. Emma Snowsill, the leader, follows a vehicle up the wrong course. She has to climb a barrier to get back on track! However, with just one lap left she still has a big lead - it's up to 57 seconds.
0446 Athletics - Briton Allan Scott is also in this heat, but this is all about Xiang at the moment.
0444 Athletics - This is one of the stories of the Games. Xiang has just warmed up by jumping two hurdles but then he pulls up with what appears to be an Achilles problem. He's down on the track holding that ankle area. Even if he runs now, it's hard to see China's most famous athlete being able to contend.
0443 Athletics - Artur Noga won that heat in 13.53. Meanwhile, Liu Xiang looks like he won't run.
0442 Athletics - Terrence Trammell, one of the favourites for a medal in the hurdles, is out! He pulls up having cleared just one hurdle with some sort of injury.
0440 Triathlon - Snowsill has stretched her lead to 39 seconds with two laps of the run remaining. Fernandes remains second. British world champion Helen Tucker is well down the field and won't medal here today.
0436 Athletics - American David Payne wins heat four of the 110m hurdles in 13.42secs.
0434 Triathlon - Snowsill now has more than 15 seconds advantage and is looking good. Portugal's Vanessa Fernandes is in second, but Helen Tucker's medal hopes look to be fading. She's now some way back in 17th.
0432 Athletics - Nathan Douglas has just jumped 16.72m in the triple jump, but that's his final attempt and it's some way short of making the final. Briton will have two competitors in it though with Phillips Idowu and Larry Achike already through.
0430 Triathlon - Into the final phase and it's crunch time now. Former world champion Emma Snowsill, another Australian, has made an early move during the run and now has round a 10-second lead.
0428 Athletics - Liu Xiang appears to be limping as he heads into the warm-up area. Colombia's Paulo Villar has just won heat three.
0426 Triathlon - The athletes make the transition from cycling to running and New Zealand's Andrea Hewitt is in first place. Helen Tucker remains among the leaders - she's just nine seconds back in 13th.
0420 Athletics - Oliver comes through in the second half of the race to win fairly comfortably. He didn't make the best of starts but still won by a fair distance in 13.30.
0417 Athletics - David Oliver, the US champion, goes in heat two of this 110m hurdles.
0415 Athletics - There are rumours that Liu Xiang will not run here today. The Chinese poster boy has been struggling with a hamstring injury recently. He's due to go in heat six.
0410 Athletics - Robles wins easily with Turner comfortably in the top four.
0409 Athletics - World-record holder Dayron Robles of Cuba goes in the first hurdles heat alongside Briton Andy Turner. The qualification isn't very tough in this first round - the first four in each heat progress, plus the eight fastest losers.
0403 Triathlon - Some disappointing news for Team GB - Hollie Avil has dropped out. She was off the pace, but Helen Tucker remains in the lead group.
0401 Next on the track will be the men's 110m hurdles first-round heats. China's most famous athlete Liu Xiang will be in action, as will Britons Andy Turner and Allan Scott.
0358 Athletics - The final heat of the men's 200m first round is won by Trinidad and Tobago's Aaron Armstrong. Britons Christian Malcolm and Marlon Devonish went through earlier in case you missed that news.
0354 Athletics - More good news for Team GB from the triple jump pit as Larry Achike has just sealed his place in the final with an effort of 17.18m.
0352 Triathlon - Halfway through the cycling phase and Helen Tucker is still very much in contention. She's in the leading pack of around 20 riders.
0351 Athletics - Nigeria's Obinna Metu wins heat seven of the 200m.
0343 Athletics - In heat six of the 200m, American Wallace Spearmon is safely through, winning in 20.46. Ireland's Paul Hession is third in 20.59 and also progresses to tonight's second round.
0342 Triathlon - An update from the women's race and Briton Helen Tucker is still in the leading pack during the cycling phase. Nicola Spirig, of Switzerland, leads. The other Brit, Hollie Avil, is down in 22nd around 30secs off the pace.
0337 Athletics - A disappointing first effort in the triple jump from Nathan Douglas - he manages just 16.45m.
0334 Athletics - Bolt looks like he's out for a jog as he simply does enough to make it through. A time of 20.64 is nothing to write home about, but the Jamaican didn't put much effort into that. Easy.
0330 Athletics - Idowu sails into the triple jump final. A distance of 17.44m puts the gold-medal favourite straight through with his first jump. That was highly impressive from the British star.
0329 Athletics - Usain Bolt is next up in the 200m. What on earth will the Jamaican sensation produce now?
0327 Athletics - Not particularly impressive from Dix there, although he did make it through.
0322 Athletics - Briton Zoe Derham has just had her final throw in the women's hammer qualification. Her best was an effort of 64.74m. That won't make the final, but then we didn't expect her to progress.
0320 Triathlon - American Laura Bennett leads after the swim phase but Briton Helen Tucker is just four seconds back as the athletes get on their bikes for a 40km ride.
0319 Athletics - Devonish and Collins are first and second respectively in that one. Devonish's time is 20.49. American Walter Dix is in heat four.
0315 Hockey - A blow to GB women's semi-final bid has come with Germany beating Japan 1-0. Germany are now into the last four. GB must hope Argentina don't win later - they play New Zealand at 1330. GB must first win against USA at 1100.
0313 Athletics - Malcolm does well to finish in second place. He's safely through. Britain's other competitor, Marlon Devonish, goes in the next heat alongside former 100m world champion Kim Collins.
0308 Athletics - Crawford's time was 20.61secs there. Heat two sees Briton Christian Malcolm in action, but we've heard that Alex Nelson is injured and he won't run in heat seven. A blow for the Briton that.
0307 Athletics - Defending 200m champion Shawn Crawford eases to victory in the opening first-round heat. It's the first three to go through from each heat, plus the eight fastest losers in this event.
0302 Athletics - The triple jumpers are out for their qualifying event. As well as Idowu, GB are represented by Larry Achike and Nathan Douglas.
0300 Triathlon - They are under way in Beijing.
0258 Triathlon - Away from the main stadium, the women's triathlon is about to get under way. Britain have world champion Helen Tucker in the field, as well as Hollie Avil. It's the swim first, then the cycling and finally the run. A tough test for these women is about to begin.
0256 Athletics - Phillips Idowu will be out in a minute for the triple jump qualifying. Then it's the heats of the men's 200m featuring Usain Bolt. What a run he produced in the 100m final. I rate Michael Johnson's 200m world record (set at the 1996 Games) as the greatest run of all time, but Bolt is just 5/6 to eclipsed that 19.32secs mark over the coming days.
0253 Athletics - The semi-finals of the men's 400m take place tomorrow night and just to recap, Britain will have both Martyn Rooney and Andrew Steele involved.
0251 Athletics - Warriner's winning time is 45.23. Gillick is indeed out. Tyler Christopher and Michael Blackwood also miss out on the fastest loser spots.
0250 Athletics - Warriner didn't expect much energy there. He cruises to victory, but Gillick finishes only fourth and it looks like he is out.
0247 Athletics - World champion Jeremy Warriner goes in this final heat, as does Ireland's David Gillick.
0245 Brian Chapman, a Briton in Australia, has emailed to hail Team GB's wonderful weekend. He says: "Been copping heaps from the Aussies here, now it's my turn!" Yep, the Aussies have just eight golds to GB's 11 so far.
0242 Athletics - That's a new PB of 44.94. However, Christopher, the world indoor champion, produced a poor run and he'll go out. Blackwood was fourth and will wait to wait to see if he goes through - it looks unlikely. A bit of a shock in that one.
0241 Athletics - A great run from Steele sees him win the heat in under the 45-second barrier.
0236 Athletics - Heat six sees Briton Andrew Steele in action. It's a tough-looking race for him though - he's up against Michael Blackwood, of Jamaica, and CanadianTyler Christopher.
0233 Athletics - Merritt jogs over the last 30m and still posts a time of 44.96 in winning the heat. Job done.
0230 Athletics - American star Lashawn Merritt goes in the inside lane in heat five. He'll be expecting to stroll through. Merritt has beaten defending champ Jeremy Warriner this season. Warriner goes in heat seven,.
0225 Athletics - Rooney is impressive as he wins in 45.00. He pulled away in the home straight and looked comfortable as he booked his place in round two.
0219 Athletics - Briton Martyn Rooney goes in the next heat. He's twice broken his personal best in recent weeks and is in great form. He'll be confident of winning a place in the final.
0217 Athletics - Costa Rica's Nery Brenes wins the third heat comfortably in 45.36. Andretti Bain of the Bahamas struggles but goes through in third.
0210 Athletics - Brown has to work hard to get into the top three with all three, plus fourth, under 45 seconds. He wins the race thanks to a late burst.
0207 Athletics - Chris Brown of the Bahamas is among the medal hopefuls in heat two of the 400m.
0205 Feel free to email your views on the action in Beijing, or if you have any questions fire away. I'll try to publish some of them. Perhaps you want to have your say about Team GB's weekend success or the incredible Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps. The address is: andy.schooler@bskyb.com
0202 Athletics - The first heat sees American David Neville go safely through. France's Leslie Djhone wins the race.
0200 Athletics - OK, first up it's those athletics heats which we will now focus on. The first event of the day is the 400m - seven first-round races with the first three going through to the semi-finals plus the three fastest losers. Martyn Rooney is Britain's best hope.
0140 It's been a brilliant weekend for Team GB and the medals could keep on coming today - day 10 of the 2008 Games. GB start the day third in the medal table and will be hoping that their team pursuit cyclists can add to that haul. The cycling action gets under way at 0930. First it's the athletics qualifying session at 0200, with Britain's biggest Bird's Nest medal hope Phillips Idowu looking to book his place in the triple jump final. 100m champ Usain Bolt is back in the first round of the 200m, while Chinese star Liu Xiang opens his 110m hurdles campaign. Also this morning, there's the women's triathlon (0300) where GB have the reigning world champion, Helen Tucker. Gymast Beth Tweddle goes in the uneven bars final (1143), sailing medals are decided in the 470 classes and GB's women play a crucial hockey match against the USA (1100).
