1523 GOLD Equestrian - A bit of a down turn but still, its a gold to report so report it I shall - Anky van Grunsven of the Netherlands riding Salinero won the individual dressage gold medal..job done
1520 Athletics - My word Ohuruogu had to dig down deep there to guts that out, but guts it out she did, never phased by the American's flying lead, the Brit clocked an even-paced 49.62 to scoop the gold - what a performance on this day of brilliant performances.
1513 GOLD Athletics - Christine Ohuruogu takes the gold!! What a performance that was as she hunts down Sanya Richards in the final 10 metres to become Olympic champion!
1504 Athletics - Leshawn Merrit takes the semi with something in hand, but Martyn Rooney produces a fantastic late surge to grab second place in a time of 44.6 and book his spot in the Olympic final.
1500 Hockey - Eddie Ockenden levels late on for Australia and it finishes 3-3 with Great Britain and GB officially go out of the tournament, although it was never in doubt with what they needed.
1455 Athletics - Andrew Steele has no chance of making the final after that run in the second semi-final, let's hope for better from Martyn Rooney in the next.
1447 Athletics - Champion Jeremy Wariner strolls through to the 400m final easily enough, a relaxing passage through for the American.
1440 Hockey - It's 3-2 to GB in the hockey now against Australia, nowhere near enough to get through but it'll at least be a good win if they hang on.
1435 Athletics - Usain Bolt makes it through his semi-final but it's a struggle and he tightens up towards the line....Only joking! This man's not human..again Bolt is jogging for the last 30 metres but still pips Shawn Crawford and Wallace Spearmon, Marlon Devonish doesn't get through.
1430 Athletics - Churandy Martina of the Dutch Antillies wins the first 200m semi-final and Christian Malcolm comes through in fourth to make the final in a new season's best - our old friend Walter Dix also goes through.
1421 Boxing - No mistake from Tony Jeffries as he goes through 10-2 and makes the semi-finals, joining David Price as guaranteed GB boxing medallists - lets hope its a couple of golds.
1417 Boxing - It's 9-2 to Jeffries now with just two minutes to go, a couple of great shots from the Brit there straight through Szello 's guard - just one round from a medal now.
1415 GOLD Athletics - In the excitement of Germaine Mason winning a shock silver I forgot to inform you all that Russia's Andrey Silnov has actually won the gold, in case you're interested, I'm not particularly, still reeling my jaw back in from Mason's superb silver.
1413 Boxing - Jeffries is leading 5-1 after two rounds - jabbing nicely and staying out of trouble, a load better than his nervy opener.
1409 Gymnastics - China's Lu Chunlong won the Olympic men's trampoline title, now that is shock news...
1407 Hockey - Great Britain of gone 1-0 up on Australia - just the seven more to go! But good news for those that backed them at 4-1 to win.
1407 Boxing - Tony Jeffries is up next in the ring to take on Hungary's Imre Szello in the light heavyweight quarter-final for a guaranteed medal.
1401 SILVER High Jump - Germaine Mason wins a shock silver medal for Great Britain's first athletics medal of the Games - massively unexpected but supremely welcome, great display there from the jumper.
1401 Athletics - Dayron Robles strolls through his heat in the 110m hurdles, it doesn't look good for Andy Turner though who finishes well down the field.
1357 High Jump - Mason fails his second attempt at 2.36, he looked more like limbo with that one than high jump, but he's still gunning for a medal, could be silver or bronze.
1355 Update - Brazil and Argentina are getting ready to kick-off, while GB's men are 0-0 with Australia in the hockey, still just the eight goals needed for the Brits to go through, should be pretty comfortable...
1337 High Jump - Mason goes over 2.34m and the Brit could be in line for a medal here - he's currently leading defending chamion Stefan Holm of Sweden.
1321 High Jump - Tom Parsons is now out of the competition after failing at 2.29m, Martyn Bernard joins him, but Germaine Mason gets over 2.32m to stay in.
1315 High Jump - Martyn Bernard clears 2.20m despite clattering the bar with his backside - it's the first time GB have three men in the final since 1952 with Germaine Mason going over 2.25m.
1313 GOLD Weightlifting - Matthias Steiner of Germany takes the men's 105kg weightlifting gold medal.
1307 Hockey - GB's men's team take on the powerful Australian Kookaburras needing a win to have a chance of making the semis - can they do it? SKy Bet have them at 4-1 to beat the Aussies - go here Betting or paste this link - http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvEv&id=11366677&aff=2406&SS_Oly_CW - into your browser to have a flutter.
1305 GOLD Gymnastics - Stone the crows (where does that saying come from?) the male Chinese gymnasts are ace! Zou Kai has won another gold for the team as he takes the high bar competition.
1255 Football - Nigeria are into the Olympic men's football final after beating Belgium 4-1, a real thrashing for the Belgians there and the Super Eagles go for gold against either Brazil or Argentina.
1250 Athletics - Emily Freeman is through to the 200m semis, and as the track action gets underway, remember that our friends at Sky Bet have Christine Ohuruogu at 3/1 for a 400m gold later on in today's big race - go here Betting or paste this link - http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvEv&id=11366677&aff=2406&SS_Oly_CW - into your browser to have a flutter.
1241 BRONZE Boxing - Just a note especially for our Irish viewers from the ring, Ireland's Paddy Barnes will definitely earn a medal after his win in the light-flyweight - a first Olympic boxing medal for Ireland in 16 years, and at least a bronze.
1235 Medals - The gold for Hoy and Silver for Kenny means Great Britain have beaten their medal tally from Athens already, with 31 now overall compared to 30 four years ago.
1232 Football - Nigeria are 3-0 ahead now and with just 15 minutes left it'll be a miracle if Belgium can pull one back here.
1223 Football - Nigeria have a 2-0 lead over Belgium now and the 1996 champions have one foot in the Olympic final.
1221 GOLD Gymnastics - US gymnast Shawn Johnson finnaly won a gold medal as she claims the women's balance beam title.
1220 Cycling - Hoy's the first man since swimmer Henry Taylor in that London 1908 Games to win three golds at the same Olympics - a remarkable achievement in the modern day Games.
1215 GOLD Cycling - Chris Hoy wins the gold! It was tough and Kenny pushed him again but the big Scot wins it - and makes history with a third gold of the Games in Beijing.
1207 Cycling - What a performance from Pendleton there, she has dominated this event from start to finish. That brings up GB's 14th gold of the Olympics, and we will be equalling the haul of 1920 in Antwerp by making it 15 with the men's sprint, that's the most since London 1908 when the hosts won 56 - that really doesn't count though as only a handful of nations competed.
1206 GOLD Cycling - Victoria Pendleton has done it! And my word it was too easy for the Brit as she just walked off a lap out and didn't even get into top gear when crushing Australian Anna Mears - who looked beaten even at the start.
1203 Cycling - Here comes Pendleton in her race for gold - if she takes this she is the Olympic sprint champion.
1202 BRONZE Cycling - Shuang Guo takes the women's sprint bronze medal beating Willy Kanis - the Chinese was always looking too strong, and was unlucky not to be in the final after being demoted earlier.
1148 Cycling - Hoy just edges the first one, Kenny went very early and Hoy hard to work really hard to get back on leve terms and then just take the opening race win on the line.
1145 Cycling - Borgain beats Levy in the first bronze medal race - and now it's time for Hoy v Kenny as the Brits battle it out for gold.
1139 Cycling - Pendleton wins the first race of her final against Aussie Anna Mears, taking it up a lap out and Mears could not get near here on the stretch.
1132 GOLD Wrestling - More gold flying about in Beijing, and Russia have picked up another as world champion Maviet Batirov won the 60kg freestyle comp.
1129 GOLD Gymnastics - All of a sudden it's a gold rush! And back to the old routine in the men's gymnastics as China again win gold, their sixth gold out of seven with Li Xiaopeng winning the parallel bars.
1128 Football - Nigeria are 1-0 up on Belgium in the men's semi-finals.
1125 GOLD Cycling - Argentina take the gold medal eventually, with two veterans with a combined age of 76! Spain have taken the silver and Russia bronze. Great Britain just couldn't get going in that and they come eighth, they were well watched by the rest of the pack but Wiggins and Cavendish didn't seem to have any answers.
1123 Cycling - It's calculators out time as the race reaches it's climax with Argentina still in front but Germany and Belgium still going for the lap, while there's points available for finishing at the head of the pack which could also decide the gold! Very confusing but exciting - I think!
1118 Cycling - Spoke too soon! The attack fizzles out with Wiggins in particular looking a bit leggy after his heavy schedule. Argentina still in front with Belgium now going for the lap that would give them the gold.
1117 Cycling - Denmark make a break, and finally Britain make a challenge with 33 laps left as Cavendish makes a burst and Wiggins takes over.
1006 Football - Nigeria v Belgium fight it out for a place in the Olympic final and it's 0- early on, later the old enemies Brazil and Argentina clash in the other men's semi.
1105 Gymnastics - Four more finals today in the gym - and it's the men's parallel bars first up.
1103 Cycling - Spain win sprint 60 and with 80-odd laps to go Wiggins and Cavendish need to show something soon as they're well behind and running out of laps.
1055 Cycling - Italy gained a lap, but then lost it as they were knackered after the effort! Argentina kept their though and Canada have just got one on the board too in this 200-lap epic. GB are just floating around in midfield and are ninth up to now. Everyone is watching the pair and no help is being given to them by the pack.
1038 GOLD Wrestling - An American has won the freestyle wrestling, no it's not Hulk Hogan (I'm showing my age there) but it's Henry Cejudo who beat Japan's Tomohiro Matsunaga.
1033 Cycling - Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish are off in the madison - let's see how they go in this mad-cap event as Wiggins looks for a third gold with sprint master Cavendish.
1027 Cycling - DQ! They've demoted Guo for the coming together and Anna Mears goes through to face Pendleton despite losing that race - massive drama at the velodrome, would have had a sizeable wager on the judges not ruling against the Chinese - almost would have given it the 'max bet' of a fiver but would have lost!
1023 Cycling - There's a faller there! Guo slips on the track and the race has to start again - and when it does it's all rough and tumble as they clash arms around the turn and in the end Guo just takes it by a whisker - but surely this will go to the judges!
1010 Cycling - It's Big Boy Hoy v Young Kenny (isn't he off Phoenix Nights?) in the final, so guaranteed 1-2 for GB. Hoy has the power and the reputation but 20-year-old Kenny will not just let his team-mate stride away with a third gold of the Games - should be some race!
1010 Cycling - Jason Kenny doesn't bother with the tactical stuff this time, and he goes early and races away from Max Levy with a lap and a half to go and the German has no chance - Guaranteed Gold for GB!
1005 Cycling - Hoy could have ridden a unicycle in that race against Bourgain as the Frenchman simply gave up as soon as the big man started to apply the pressure, not up for the fight was Bourgain and Hoy is in the final as he searches for a third gold medal.
1002 Cycling - Anna Mears takes one back against China's Guo and it will go to a decider to see who faces Pendleton for the gold, the Brit will be sat very comnfortably while these two have another go at each other.
0956 Cycling - Pendleton makes the final - the first time in history a British women has contested the Olympic sprint final. The world champion made a few errors there though and needed a late surge to nick it at the line.
0955 Wrestling - It's the freestyle wrestling today so I'll keep you posted on those results, no greco-roman anymore, not sure if freestyle includes clotheslines and top-rope elbows but we'll see.
0952 Canoeing - Lucy Wainwright recovered from a slow start to finish third in her flatwater kayak 500m heat and make the semi-finals.
0951 Damon Hird is in Shanghai tuning in to our clockwatch - apparently the English-language coverage is poor over there, funny that being in China and all. Anyway he's singing GB's praises and he could have more to shout about in an hour or so.
0947 Cycling - Jason Kenny gets the better of German Max Levy and that's another step towards and all-GB final in the men's sprint.
0943 Cycling - Chris Hoy just, for lack of a better phrase, mullered Frenchman Mickael Bourgain with the big man clocking up to 70k/h as he flew beyond his opponent to go 1-0 up in his semi.
0936 Athletics - Padleton seems a good bet for a medal, and speaking of betting our friends at Sky Bet have Christine Ohuruogu at 3/1 for a 400m gold later on in today's big race - go here Betting or paste this link - http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvEv&id=11366677&aff=2406&SS_Oly_CW - into your browser to have a flutter.
0933 Cycling - Victoria Pendleton is first up in her sprint semi-final against Dutch girl WIlly Kanis, a former world BMX champion, and the Brit flies around the final bend and destroys Kanis in the first race.
0920 Cycling - Ten minutes until we drop in on the velodrome, our own piece of good old Britain in China as it's become, three more golds up for grabs today and plenty of history to be made both for Team GB and individually. Email us in on paul.higham@bskyb.com with all your thoughts and comments - or if you know what history could, and should be made today?
0917 Besketball - It's the quarter-final stage in the women's competition and hosts China are the first ones through after beating Belarus 77-62.
0903 Canoeing - Michael Kolganov wins the last heat of the K1 500m. He was Israel's flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
0900 Cycling - Just half an hour to go before the last day of track cycling begins at the Laoshan Velodrome. Here's a rundown on what's happened there today. Victoria Pendleton is hoping for gold in the women's sprint. She goes in the semis first but looked so impressive yesterday in the last eight. In the men's event, Chris Hoy is the hot favourite. He's avoided team-mate Jason Kenny in the semis so it could be an all-British final. And in the madison, Bradley Wiggins teams up with Tour de France hero Mark Cavendish. They also start as favourites for gold. If Hoy and/or Wiggins strike gold they will become the first British Olympians to win three golds at a singles Games since swimmer Henry Taylor did so in 1908.
0858 Sailing - Back at Qingdao, Paul Goodison is cutting a proud figure as he stands atop the medal rostrum after clinching gold earlier in the Laser class for GB.
0852 Canoeing - Hungary's Akos Vereckei wins the third heat - just. But he's a former world champion and will be a threat to Tim Brabants in Saturday's final.
0842 Canoeing - Another great paddle from the Briton there. He storms to victory after making another flying start - very similar to how he performed yesterday in the 1000m. Brabants is into his second final and medals beckon you feel.
0840 Canoeing - Brabants is ready to go.
0833 Canoeing - Canada's Adam van Koeverden wins the first heat of the K1 500m.
0830 Canoeing - Today's heats are about to begin. Tim Brabants goes in the second of the K1 500m at 0840. The winner of each heat goes straight to the final, with the next three heading into the semis.
0823 Sailing - It looks like that's it at Qingdao today. Laser and Tornado races were abandoned due to the light winds, so no change in those standings.
0805 Coming up shortly though is the second day of canoeing flatwater heats. Britain has three hopefuls going today, including Tim Brabants in the K1 500m. He impressed in the 1000m heats yesterday so we'll keep a close eye on his progress.
0752 As for what's to come, the answer is plenty. The last session in the velodrome starts at 0930 with Britain confident of winning three more gold medals. Bradley Wiggins and Chris Hoy could both win their third gold of these Olympics - if they do so they will become the first Britons to win three golds in a single Games in 100 years. The athletics finals session today starts at 1200 and features Christine Ohuruogu in the 400m final, while Andy Baddeley may also get among the medals in the 1,500m. Boxer Tony Jeffries fights at 1400, knowing a win will secure him at least a bronze medal. And at 1215, the individual dressage sees Emma Hindle go for gold for Team GB in Hong Kong.
0745 Time for a quick recap of the main news so far today. GB has another gold medal thanks to Paul Goodison in sailing's Laser class. That's number 13 of the Games. Two more and this will be GB's best gold tally since 1908. In athletics, Jade Johnson is into the women's long jump final, while Goldie Sayers made the javelin final earlier. Alistair Brownlee led for much of the triathlon but finished 12th as Germany's Jan Frodeno took gold.
0730 Sailing - That's a sort of British success. Tunnicliffe was born in Doncaster in 1982 before moving to Ohio 12 years later. Now she represents the USA. China win the bronze - their first ever medal in a sailing boat at the Games.
0729 GOLD Sailing - Tunnicliffe holds on for gold, in fact she finishes the medal race second. A great fightback after that woeful start. Only the Lithuanian finishes ahead of her. It's silver for Volungeviciute.
0724 Sailing - Tunnicliffe has stormed back during the leg to the third mark. She's up to third now and that's enough for gold if she stays there.
0718 Sailing - At mark two, Tunnicliffe still needs to make up one more place if she is to take the gold. GB's Penny Clark is at the back of the fleet.
0713 Sailing - Tunnicliffe still has work to do at the first mark. As things stand that start is costing her and Lithuania's Gintare Volungeviciute is on course for gold.
0710 Sailing - Briton Clark wasn't going to medal in this race any way, she started 10th overall. Tunnicliffe, who was actually born in the UK but is representing the USA, makes some quick ground. She needs to finish in the top four to be assured of gold.
0705 Sailing - Now the women's Laser Radial medal race is under way but it's a bizarre start. Several boats, including those of gold-medal favourite Anna Tunnicliffe and GB's Penny Clark, are recalled for a false start. They have to return to the start line and 'restart'. The field is now some way ahead.
0700 Sailing - More good news from the regatta and Bryony Shaw has climbed into the bronze medal position in the women's windsurfing class after finishing second to China's Yin Jian in the latest race. Yin leads overall.
0642 GOLD Sailing - Goodison crosses the line and that's another gold medal for Team GB! He punches the air in delight.
0638 Sailing - New Zealand cross the finish line in first. That means all that Goodison now has to do is finish the race to win gold.
0636 Sailing - Goodison is still three and a half minutes behind at that mark but the Swede remains behind him and that's all that really matters as far as British fans are concerned.
0632 Sailing - Back in the Laser medal race, New Zealand still lead from Slovenia at mark three, with Goodison and Myrgren well back. Briton Goodison remains on course for gold.
0630 Sailing - News from the windsurfing which is also now under way and Nick Dempsey has secured a fifth place in his first race of the day. But a third for the French mean Dempsey stays in second place overall - although he's now just one point off the series lead. Australia slip back to third overall.
0627 The gap back to Goodison is now three and a half minutes with the Swede even further behind. Surely only an abandonment can now deny the Briton gold.
0624 Sailing - It's still New Zealand from Slovenia at the front as the leaders hit mark two. That's enough to push Slovenia into silver as things stand. But the important news is that Paul Goodison remains on course for gold in this Laser medal race.
0620 Sailing - New Zealand lead at the first mark from Slovenia. That's fine from the British perspective. Goodison and Myrgren are still well back - almost three minutes off the lead. Another gold beckons here for GB and that would be great news from Goodison who suffered heartbreak four years ago in Athens when he finished fourth.
0615 Sailing - So far, so good for Goodison and Team GB. He has his Swedish rival behind him at the back of the field and Myrgren has it all to do. However, the wind appears to be dropping and that could result in an abandonment - as happened with Ben Ainslie the other day.
0610 Sailing - The race gets under way with Goodison and Swede Rasmus Myrgren at the back looking set for a 'match race'. Goodison just wants the fleet to sail off into the distance to prevent his rival from winning.
0609 Sailing - Goodison is keeping a close eye on the Swedish boat - the only one that can deny him gold. Sweden must win and GB finish last for things to turn around in the race for gold.
0605 Sailing - The hooter goes to signal five minutes before the off in this medal race. The wind conditions are light but the sails are filling and there shouldn't be a problem completing this one. A reminder that several races were postponed earlier today.
0600 Sailing - Better news from Qingdao. The competitors for men's Laser medal race are out on the water and are preparing for action. Paul Goodison leads the way for Britain in this class and by some distance. He needs to finish just ninth out of 10 boats in this race to secure the title.
0550 An anonymous one here from the USA, but worth publishing. "Do you really feel Andy Baddeley has a chance for gold in the 1500 metres or is he is looking at a bronze at best? I think the money-mad NBA basketball players here in the States have figured out what it means to play for their country. America is all about money but after watching (Michael) Phelps turn into a national hero they realize what they do is no better or important than the boys and girls at the velodrome or any other sport. What is really important is representing your country. I'm so proud to be a Brit." Well, the answer to your question is that Baddeley will do well to medal. However, in a slow-run race he has to have a great chance. He has a strong finish and is tactically very astute - one of the best in the field. That race goes off at 1550. Stayed logged on!
0547 David Staff, a Briton in Dubai, writes: "As much as I'd like to see the dream hockey result that Sean is predicting it is never going to happen. If you want an outside bet I think Christine (Ohuruogu) to beat Sanya (RIchards) in the 400m is more likely, she's good value at 5/1 to take the gold although of course it is a big ask. Have no doubt at all that the cyclists will take centre stage again today - I am checking my family tree to see if I am related to Jamie Staff!" Ohuruogu certainly looked good in the semis and Richards has still to truly deliver on the biggest stage. That 400m final goes off at 1510.
0544 Some of the minor sports are currently taking centre stage, hence the lack of updates. We had hoped to have some sailing to bring you around now but poor weather is scuppering that. The Laser Radial medal race is the latest to be postponed, although the men's Laser is still on the schedule - Briton Paul Goodison goes for gold in that one whenever it does get started.
0517 If you have anything to add, the address is andy.schooler@bskyb.com. Any comments or questions about the action are most welcome.
0515 And here's an interesting viewpoint from an Australian. Warren Kinny says: "Congrats to everyone on Team GB for a great performance... especially the cycling. As an Aussie who's used to watching the Aussie men's cycling team come home with a swag of medals, I know how fantastic this is for Brits to see their team performing so well. Chris Hoy and the rest of the team are awesome! That was a fantastic team pursuit world record the other night! I guess the GB obsession at the moment with beating Australia is really a great compliment to the fact that finishing fourth in the last two Olympics was an incredible achievement for a country with only 20million people, and of course even more incredible on a per capita basis (way ahead of USA, Russia etc). So enjoy every second of it Britain - huge congrats to every medallist - but just keep an eye over your shoulder for those Aussies!"
0512 Tony Bell describes Britain's cyclists as "awesome". He addes: "Has any country ever dominated a sport at the Olympics like GB has at the velodrome? Maybe the USSR in gymnastics back in the cold war days? I am out in Aus too and the Aussies are so keen to talk about the funding issue, but did the Australian Institute of Sport cost nothing to build and run? GB sport has been underfunded for years and I didn't see the Aussies saying they only won because they had bigger budgets in the 80s and 90s. Go GB, let's finish third in the table."
0510 A bit of a break so time for a few emails. Sean Wain is predicting GB to upset Australia in men's hockey today, plus another cycling whitewash. Not sure about rhe hockey Sean - even if GB do need to win by an avalanche of goals - but three golds in the velodrome today could well happen.
0458 Athletics - The morning session is done, but this is a good time to remind you of the finals session coming up at 1200. It will feature Christine Ohuruogu's medal bid in the 400m, while Andy Baddeley goes for Team GB in the 1,500m. Sarah Claxton is also in the 100m hurdles final, while Britain have no less than three man in the high jump final. Plenty to look forward to later.
0456 Athletics - While we've been focusing on the triathlon, the news from the Bird's Nest is that defending Olympic javelin champion Osleidys Menendez has made this year's final. You may remember she didn't qualify automatically, but she is through as the 11th best competitor in today's qualifying.
0449 Triathlon - Britain's Alistair Brownlee suffered in those closing stages and comes in 12th, 86 seconds behind the winner. Will Clarke is 14th, a further 12secs back.
0448 GOLD Triathlon - Jan Frodeno takes gold! The German responds to Simon Whitfield's attack and sprints past him in the home straight. Docherty takes the bronze with Gomez run out of the medals in the closing stages.
0447 Triathlon - Whitfield battles his way back. A great effort from the Canadian. Now he's going to attack with around 400m to go!
0446 Triathlon - Now Whitfield is slipping off the back. Briton Brownlee can't respond and won't be medalling today.
0444 Triathlon - Rana is now being dropped so the leaders are down to a group of four. Simon Whitfield, of Canada, and New Zealand's Bevan Docherty are the two I didn't mention earlier.
0439 Triathlon - One lap to go now in the run. Gomez leads with Germany's Jan Frodeno also right up there with him. Brownlee is now back in seventh.
0438 Triathlon - Brownlee's medal bid may just have suffered a fatal blow. He's slipped back as the front six headed uphill. Gomez now leads a group of five but Brownlee has been broken it seems.
0435 Triathlon - That attack didn't work. However, the lead group is now down to just six. Brownlee is stil there.
0432 Ivan Rana of Spain attacks and opens a gap up over team-mate Javier Gomez. Brownlee tracks the second Spaniard, but he's now in third. This could be a key moment. Two laps of the run are all that remain - 5km to go.
0430 Triathlon - The leaders are caught and Brownlee is well in contention for a medal for Team GB. He's now in a group of nine at the front of the race. Will Clarke has slipped just off the pace though.
0425 Triathlon - Brownlee is doing a great job here. He's closed the gap on the two leaders to just 19 seconds after the first lap of the run. It's looking like they will be caught soon.
0422 Triathlon - Brownlee is up to the bronze-medal position. He is now leading the chasing pack in this 10km run. Can the Briton reel in those leading two. The man from Leeds is looking good.
0417 Triathlon - It's the transition phase between the bike ride and run and Dirk Bockel of Luxembourg leads just three seconds ahead of Axel Zeebroek. Those two have shed the third memeber of the breakaway. The pack are just under a minute back and that group includes Britons Will Clarke and Alistair Brownlee.
0414 Sailing - News from Qingdao and it's not good. Poor conditions mean today's opening races have been cancelled. The two medal races are still scheduled for 0600 so fingers crossed.
0408 Athletics - More good news in the field for GB as Goldie Sayers has just sent the javelin out to 62.99m. That's well past the automatic qualification mark and she'll be in Thursday's final.
0405 Athletics - Jade Johnson produces the goods at the death in the long jump. She goes out to 6.61m - and that's just enough to make the final. It puts her 11th with just one jumper to go. Good news for the Briton.
0358 Triathlon - A group of three riders has moved about 20 seconds clear now. The two British contenders - Clarke and Brownlee - remain in the main pack.
0353 Athletics - Focus is now on the field events with the women's 1500m heats having been cancelled. They go straight to the semis. It's the javelin and long jump for women in the field remember.
0345 Athletics - Sayers sends the javelin out to 60.79m with her first attempt. That's better than defending champ Menendez.
0344 Triathlon - There's now leading group of around 40 cyclists and it contains Briton Will Clarke, as well as Alistair Brownlee. They all have plenty to do still though with the run yet to come. We'll keep you posted.
0342 Athletics - Long jump fancy Gomes is out! Her final effort of 6.29m is well outside the top 12. That's a shock.
0340 Athletics - Briton Goldie Sayers is out on the field for javelin qualifying, part two. Remember defending champion Osleidys Menendez will be keeping an eye on this as she could well go out after disappointing earlier.
0339 Athletics - GB's Jade Johnson is struggling in the long jump qualifying. Her second effort is just 6.15 - no improvement on the earlier 6.33. She jumped 6.81 earlier in the season.
0337 Athletics - Nataliia Pygyda, of Ukraine, won that heat in a PB of 22.91 with Simpson second in 22.94. That leaves American Muna Lee as the fastest qualifier - she ran 22.71 earlier.
0336 Athletics - Simpson starts slowly but comes through to take second spot and book her place in tonight's second round.
0335 Triathlon - The peloton responds to Brownlee's attack and reel him back in - however, he's clearly feeling good.
0333 Triathlon - An attack from Briton Tim Brownlee has seen him move clear of the bunch. Will they chase him? He's opened a gap of five or six seconds.
0330 Athletics - Sherone Simpson is next up for Jamaica in the final heat of the 200m. She took silver in Sunday's 100m and will be fancied to qualify with ease.
0328 Athletics - No problem for Campbell-Brown. An easy win in her heat in 23.04.
0327 Triathlon - It wasn't a great swim from Britons Will Clarke and Tim Don - they were down in 47th and 48th place respectively, almost a minute off the lead. Kazakhstan's Daniil Sapunov currenly leads a lead group of around 30 riders.
0325 Athletics - Defending champion Veronica Campbell-Brown goes in heat five. Can she continue Jamaica's remarkable sprint success at these Games so far? She's certainly one of the favourites for gold.
0321 Athletics - A good start in the 200m for Briton Emily Freeman. She's second in heat four and is safely through. Jamaica's Kerron Stewart is also into round two after finishing third behind Bahrain's Roqaya Al-Gassra.
0319 Triathlon - The swim is now over and New Zealander Shane Reed is in the lead. Alistair Brownlee is the leading Brit in 11th, just 10 seconds back. Now for a 40km bike ride.
0318 Athletics - Concern for long jump favourite Naide Gomes, of Portugal. She's just had a second successive foul and has just one jump left to reach the final.
0316 Athletics - Ferguson-McKenzie is second there in a race won by American Marshevet Hooker. Both ease through.
0315 Athletics - Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie is the big name in the next heat of the 200m. The Bahamian finished seventh in the 100m final.
0313 Athletics - News from the women's long jump and Jade Johnson has recorded an effort of 6.33m in the opening round. Carolina Kluft looks set for the final after a 6.70m leap. 6.75m is the automatic qualifying mark but no-one has done that yet.
0311 Athletics - Menendez is sixth after that first javelin pool. So if seven athletes go better than 60.51m in the final pool she'll be out.
0309 Athletics - 22.71 was Lee's winning time there.
0308 Athletics - Lee takes the second heat of the 200m with fellow big guns Mothersill and Muriel Hurtis-Houairi also comfortably through.
0306 Athletics - The aforementioned Gevaert isn't on the track for this next heat of the 200m. It appears she has a problem and has withdrawn.
0305 Athletics - There could be a shock brewing in the women's javelin. A best effort of 60.51m from defending champion Osleidys Menendez means the Cuban must wait for the second qualifying pool to see if she makes it through to Thursday's final.
0303 Athletics - The second heat looks the toughest of the six. American Muna Lee goes alongside the Cayman Islands' Cydonie Mothersill and European champion Kim Gevaert, of Belgium. All three should go through.
0301 Athletics - World champion Allyson Felix gets things under way with a comfortable run which brings an effortless victory. The American crosses the line in 23.02secs. She disappointed at Crystal Palace recently and will hope to regain confidence through the rounds here. So far, so good.
0259 Athletics - Back in the Bird's Nest, the first round of the women's 200m is about to begin. It's four rounds and there are six heats this morning. The first four in each race, plus the eight fastest losers will progress to this evening's second round.
0257 Triathlon - The men's medal event is about to get under way. Former world champion Tim Don, son of ex-Premier League referee Philip, goes for Britain, as do Alistair Brownlee and Will Clarke. We'll keep you posted on their process.
0253 A word of warning comes from Paul in Hong Kong. "I'm hoping that those Poms in Oz aren't speaking too soon. Hats off to all the medal winners, but it seems that our main hopes are drawing to an end (with the end of the sailing, rowing and cycling). Haven't those sneaky Ozzies got some more winners up their sleeves?" It's a good point, but Britain could have plenty more medals, Paul. At least that's what the bookies feel. Team GB currently have 27 medals - yes, that puts them above Australia in the medal table - and one layer is predicting their final total to be 45 or over - that's a 1/2 shot. I'm glad to say I backed 'over 40 medals' at 10/1 a few weeks ago, so I'm sitting pretty. Fingers crossed!
0250 What else do we have this morning, I hear you ask? Well, the men's triathlon goes off at 0300 with former world champion Tim Don being one of three British competitors. And there's sailing action at 0400 with the men's and women's RS:X class - that's windsurfing to you and I. Team GB are well placed in both with Nick Dempsey in second place overall and Bryony Shaw - winner of the test event here last year - currently in fifth. It's the penultimate day of competition for those two.
0246 John Dover's email sums up GB's performance in the velodrome. "I work for a Dutch company and nobody can believe we are doing so much better than them as everyone cycles in Holland." Britain's cyclists rule the world at present, that's for sure. Remember they also won nine golds at this year's World Championships in Manchester back in the spring.
0245 Beach Volleyball - In the women's competition, USA's Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor have just booked their place in the final. They dominate the women's game apparently - have to admit I'm no expert!
0243 Another email and Harriet Moore agrees with Alan (see 0225). She writes: "I am in Warrnambool in south west Victoria and the other poms who have emailed you are absolutely right, I have had to suffer through the Ashes and am now thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to get some pay back!" Anyone got any thoughts on the action? Any predictions for today? Let me know: andy.schooler@bskyb.com
0240 Athletics - The women's long jump qualifying is just getting under way with Jade Johnson representing Team GB. A distance of 6.75m will put her in the final. If that mark is not met by 12 people, the top 12 will qualify. Sweden's Carolina Kluft - better known for her heptathlon efforts - is also in the field.
0230 Athletics - A bit of a slip-up by us here. Apparently the first round of the women's 1500m has been done away with due to a lack of competitors, so it's straight to the semis on Thursday. Sorry about that. The women's 200m heats begin at 0300.
0225 An email from Perth, Australia, and one on a theme that's becoming somewhat familiar. Alan Baxendale says: "Yet another ex-pat Pom Down Under really enjoying our performance in Beijing and having lots of fun winding up the locals. Kevin Rudd even had a whinge this morning claiming that it was only down to the Lottery funding that has made us better than them!" Team GB's performance has certainly been impressive and while much of it can be put down to the substantial increase in funding, their athletes have performed magnificiently in many arenas.
0220 Cycling - Further to my last comment, I've just noticed a press release in my inbox which says Chris Hoy is 1/4 to win gold today, while Pendleton is 1/8 to win the women's sprint. It should also be noted that another Briton, Jason Kenny, is also into the semis along with Hoy and the two could well meet in the final as they have been kept apart in the last four.
0210 With things only just getting warmed up, there's time for you to email in your thoughts and questions. How about telling us what you think of Team GB's cyclists. What sort of achievement will is be if Wiggins and/or Hoy win a third gold medal of these Games today? Let me know: andy.schooler@bskyb.com
0200 Athletics - Things are just getting under way in the Bird's Nest with the women's javelin qualifying. Briton Goldie Sayers goes in the second pool at 0340. A distance of 61.50m will get people through to the final.
0150 Team GB's biggest hopes today come in the velodrome which sees the final day of competition - it could also see some history. Bradley Wiggins and Chris Hoy are both in with a chance of winning their third gold medal of the Games. Should they do so, it will be the first time a Briton has won three golds at a single Games since swimmer Henry Taylor did so in 1908. Wiggins goes with Tour de France hero Mark Cavendish in the men's madison, while Hoy is hoping for his third win in the men's sprint. On top of that, Victoria Pendleton is the favourite to win the women's sprint. Meanwhile, Paul Goodison is set for gold in sailing's Laser class. He needs only avoid a last-placed finish in his medal race to claim the title. The cycling session starts at 0930, the sailors go at 0600. Stayed logged on for updates.
0135 Welcome to day 11 of the 2008 Olympic Games. The action is getting under way around Beijing, but our first focus will be on the Bird's Nest where the morning athletics session gets under way at 0200. It will feature the first round of the women's 1500m - Lisa Dobriskey is a British medal hope - and the women's 200m. It's also qualfiying in the field for the women's long jump and women's javelin. We'll bring you news of what else is happening today in a moment.
