Great Britain's boxing captain 'Dynamite' David Price produced a power-packed display with a second round knockout of Olympic super heavyweight favourite Islam Timurziev.
The Russian is also the world number one and current European champion, as Price was handed the toughest draw possible in his first-round fight.
Timurziev comfortably took a 2-0 lead after the first round, but in the second the giant Liverpool fighter dropped his opponent twice before the referee called it off.
A short right hook from Price did the initial damage, as he sent Timurziev falling into the Briton before taking a count.
Still not moving fluently, Timurziev then came under more Price pressure and he again stumbled forward onto the canvass as a result.
Only looking like he would give him a second count, the referee then looked as Timurziev and decided he was in no condition to continue.
Power
With just 31 seconds of the second round gone, the six-foot-eight inch tall Price was called the winner - his sensational victory really opening up the draw.
"I still can't believe the way that just happened," said Price. "No-one does that to him.
"This right hand of mine has come on so much.
"But I've got to take it one day at a time. I've got to win one more to get in the medals.
"But I can relax a bit now because the first one and the hardest one is out of the way.
"I think I might have paid him a little too much respect in the first round but when he caught me with a right hand I knew I could take his power and when I caught him with my right hand he was gone."
