Since only recently returning to the saddle after recovering form surgery GB's rider, Emily Hindle, described her seventh-place finish in the individual dressage grand prix freestyle as 'amazing'.
Unable to ride until two weeks before the competition the 33-year-old had undergone an operation to remove a tumour in late June.
"It's amazing because two weeks before I came out here I couldn't ride as I had only recently got out of hospital after being operated on for a tumour," she said.
Having scored above 70% in each of her three dressage performances in Hong Kong Preston-born Hindle has been in superb form. She achieved 72.345% for an overall individual dressage score
Anky van Grunsven of Holland won gold and Isabell Werth and Heike Kemmer of Germany took silver and bronze respectively.
Delighted
"I'm really happy. He (Lancet) normally gets a little afraid but he has worked for me all through the competition and I can't ask for any more from him," Hindle said, delighted to be competing with her horse Lancet in one of their best-ever grand prix freestyle performances
"Normally I don't do well in freestyle and this is definitely one of the best we have done."
Helping her to make a full recovery from her surgery the Germany-based rider praised the support of her team-mates and staff.
"The British team got me prepared and stood by me and I had everyone coming to help me. It really means a great deal and makes you proud to be British," she said.
"When you are sick you really find out who you are and who your friends are and they all stood behind me and always told me they believed in me."
