Team GB have won an historic century of medals at the Paralympics in Beijing as wheelchair racer Shelly Woods gained silver in the women's T54 1,500m.
Woods had faced disappointment a few days earlier after a crash on the penultimate lap of the 5,000m as she finished second, but the Paralympic Committee ordered a re-run of the race and Woods could only claim bronze.
The 2007 London marathon winner came just over a second behind eventual winner Chantal Petitclerc, who now boasts an impressive five titles from the games.
And Britain's Ian Jones made it 101 medals after finishing third behind South Africa's Oscar Pistorius in the men's T44 400m.
'Blade Runner' Pistorius clocked a world record of 47.49, while Jones won bronze in 51.69 for his second medal of the Games.
Success
Earlier, sprinters Mickey Bushell and Hazel Simpson both won medals in the 100m. Telford born Bushell was just 0.09 seconds behind American winner Josh George in the T53, where he clocked a time of 14.86.
Simpson had to settle for bronze in the T36 as Chinese athlete Wang Fang smashed the world record with a time of 13.82.
Britain also claimed a bronze in the wheelchair basketball with an 85-77 win over the United States, Terence Bywater scoring 32 points as the team equalled the same achievement as their predecessors four years ago.
Meanwhile, Britain's wheelchair rugby team managed fourth after a 47-41 loss to Canada, despite the best efforts of Troye Collins, who top scored with 16 goals.
