What an incredible weekend for Britain. Saturday was the day Great Britain really struck gold with 4 Olympic titles making a truly historic day for Team GB. With brilliant and inspiring performances from swimmers, cyclists, sculling, rowing and sailing. Well done all our true British Olympic heroes. We are all so so proud of all our girls and boys out in Beejing.

Like Rob Davies, I'm a fellow Brit living in Australia. Considering the flak we receive every time the cricket or rugby comes on, Saturday was a glorious, glorious day!

Wheels and water!!!!!! WONDERFUL performance on both by Team G.B.Considering we have only half the contestants as china and usa, we are holding our own really well.

Chris Jones says...

I beg to differ when they have been saying Michael Phelps is the best olympian ever. Steven Redgrave stayed at the top of his sport for twenty years. That is the mark of a great olympian

I see a comment from Glenn Beckett about IF ONLY WE COULD BE TEAM ENGLAND - What would he do for the cycling - Hoy is Scottish.?????

Congrtatulations to each and every one of Team GB to all participants of our olympic squad , how sweet climbing that medal table and leaving the rest of the world bar the hosts and the U.S.A behind.

John James says...

The only drawback to phenominal success will be Gordon Brown's late acknowledgement of Team GB's dedication. An earlier comment stresses that the result is even more impressive when the paucity of facilities to train in the UK is noted. No doubt Gordon Brown (unfortunate initials!) will want to try and rescue his apalling political position by basking in sporting glory. Let's hope the athletes see through him.
