Absolutely glued to the screen and chuffed to bits with all performances. OUTSTANDING. I just want to say much respect and admiration for Paula in the marathon. I stayed up to watch and the sheer determination and strength that Paula showed is an example to us all. Being an athlete is not just about winning , the characteristics Paula showed illustrates her outstanding ability as a sportswoman. FANTASTIC. My heart goes out to her and I am confident London will be hers :)

Reading all the previews on the internet I was convinced into believing that Team GB were going to be a herd of underachievers. Still as patriotic as ever despite living in New Zealand & Australia for the last 12 years - I told my two young children who needed a sports star to follow for school projects - "don't pick an British athlete - from what I've read we'll be lucky to see any of them on the podium collecting a medal." Disappointed because they wanted to stand out from those as school picking out the NZ rowers Everswindell twins and the NZ shot putter - they defied me and dropped in Rebecca Adlington and Chris Hoy - two names no-one at their school had heard of. Mocked and giggled at at by confident kiwis who celebrate every national success and failure like a birth or death -my lads had the last laugh. Good on them. Younger than me - as hopeful as ever - a new breed of optimists - just like Team GB! Well done. I'm enjoying this as much as I enjoyed watching Daley Thompson, Linford Christie, Steve Ovett & Steve Cram and Seb Coe....

What amazes me is that there are messages on here criticising singing or what we are called, whats does it matter, we are doing far better than expected & exceeding in so many events, be proud, be happy & support these sporting heroes in Beijing.

the best thing about the olympics, is no one ever slags the GB team off (except the guy who seems gutted about the national anthem), they never slag individuals off, it just seems like all out support whether we finish 3rd, 5th, 10th or wherever in the table everyone cheers on GB. wish we had that in other sporting events. Keep going GB, stunning performance.

Absolutely amazing! theyve al done themselves and the nation very very proud. The work still hasnt finished there tho, much more can still be done. More money and a better emphasis on the teaching of sports within schools is needed. Keep up the great work teamGB! we're all very proud of you!
